- Light
- The lawn is open to the west with nothing to break it, so a four o'clock ceremony is squinting and a six o'clock one is golden. Worth pushing couples later than they think they want.
- Don’t miss
- The long axis of the parterre from the fountain end. It is the only frame that shows the scale of the place.
- Worth knowing
- Sprinklers run on the far lawn early evening. Grounds staff will hold them if you ask on the day, and nobody will think to tell you.
- Couples always ask
- Where the rain plan is. It is the ballroom, and it is genuinely fine, with tall windows on two sides.
- In their words
- Portraits work better before the ceremony here. The gardens empty out once guests arrive and you lose the clean backgrounds.
